Indiana Prevention Resource Center and Safe Schools Healthy Students Surveys
The Metropolitan School District of Mt. Vernon, participating in the Safe Schools Healthy Students initiative, will be giving the Indiana Prevention Resource Center alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use survey and the Safe Schools Healthy Students GPRA survey the week of March 15. As you might recall, these surveys were given last year in the spring to collect baseline data for local schools and the Safe Schools Healthy Students initiative to provide valid estimates of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use and school safety concerns among our students. This year's data will be used to evaluate the impact of the Safe Schools Healthy Students initiative and to guide prevention programs.
We will be asking your youth to take part in the surveys. Students in the 6th through 12th grades in the school district will take the anonymous surveys and all responses will be kept confidential. Your child's participation in the surveys is voluntary.
